SOUTH FERRY SUBWAY STATION, NYC

Apogee originally provided the lighting for this station in 1996. When Superstorm Sandy devasted NYC in 2012 the entire South Ferry Station was submerged in 18 feet of water. Apogee was asked to assess the damage, and we confirmed that none of the existing lighting fixtures or wireway was salvageable because of the salt water.

Apogee worked with Parsons Brinkerhoff to redesign the station with LED fixtures throughout. South Ferry was the first NYC subway station to use exclusively LED lighting and you can see the exceptional performance wherever you are within this space.
